Community-Driven Design Inspired by Innovative Design Education, Programs and Projects.
We have completed over 370 low-cost design and planning assistance projects and over 20 design programs with an estimated value of donated services well over $1,080,000.
In 2025, our programs and project focus areas include Design Education and Community Visioning.
Our Focus Areas
Our programs address some of the biggest challenges faced by the City of Richmond and support the Richmond 300: A Guide for Growth plan. Together, we can make an impact and build a sustainable future for current and future residents.
Don’t see your idea or vision? Your voice matters and we want to hear from you! Email us at hello@storefrontrichmong.org and one of our team members will connect with you.
Richmond 300: A Guide for Growth outlines a 20-year vision for equitable and sustainable development with 17 goals, 73 objectives, and 415 strategies.
This plan promotes prosperity and inclusivity for all residents, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful planning. With this framework, our mission and focus to address community challenges and foster collaboration is more vital than ever.
Current Projects: Richmond Handbook
Imagine living in a city where access to food, transportation, green space, and opportunity is universal. The Richmond Handbook is an interactive guide and activity book that will empower residents, specifically youth ages 13-17, to become active participants in the design of their communities.
Storefront is collaborating with urban planning and design professionals, consultants, community partners, educators, and youth to gather and update content. This book will provide supplemental activities for classrooms and after-school programs, an urban planning curriculum for our youth design education programs and be an accessible resource for all residents.
